GiGoNET Anti-SPAMMING Efforts:
|
| On
July 6th, 2003, GiGoNET subscribed to the ORDB
and SBL
block lists to minimize
unsolicited bulk email, also known as SPAM. A self study of inbound
mail revealed that five of six inbound messages were SPAM. We are
dropping our blue ribbon label. Ridding our servers of unsolicited,
bandwidth eaters, should not be considered as a form of censorship,
but many will argue the point. We hold our Bible, Country, the Bill
of Rights, and the Constitution with the highest regard. We believe
in the first amendment as strongly as the rest, BUT, the right bares
a responsibility to use it mindfully. Most of the SPAM comes from other
countries where our laws and rights mean nothing. We apologize for
any disappointment you may be feeling. Perhaps find hope in knowing
that we do no other content filtering. We proudly ran as a blue ribbon company for over two years, and the
internal decision to drop the blue ribbon label was a very difficult
decision. We, at GiGoNET, are non-liberal in nature and frown on any
initiative that dims any of our God given rights that man tends to
deny
himself. The SPAM was simply too much.
